Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, called for members of the Security Council to create a division among themselves that can contribute productively to achieving peace. Guterres called for the establishment of the General Assembly of the UN and to utilize the "Mandate of the Future" for advancing international negotiations forward.

In his address to the Security Council, which session was dedicated to strengthening the practice of multilateralism and improving global governance, Guterres expressed hope that the Council would work in ways that contribute to resolving conflicts and alleviating suffering that they provoke.

"We hope that the Security Council will act in ways that contribute to the resolution of conflicts and alleviation of suffering that they provoke," - Guterres emphasized.

Genset also called for permanent members of the Security Council and other members of the international community to work together and hope that the "Mandate of the Future" will be used to advance negotiations forward.
